Jamaican themed concert to celebrate Black History Month

On Thursday 15th October Hillcrest School and Sixth Form Centre hosted a Jamaican themed concert in celebration of Black History Month.

Hillcrest students provided live entertainment including music, dance, poetry and much more. We were joined by Ms Suzette Hardeen from our sister school, Bishop Gibson High School in Jamaica, who has been visiting the school all week as part of our international links.

Ms Hardeen watched many lessons and spoke to many students about life in Jamaica and Bishop Gibson High School. Hillcrest benefits greatly from our strong and established links with our partner schools and this is something that will continue to grow in the future.

I would like to say a special thanks to all of the acts who took part in the show, making it a memorable experience for all. An extended thanks goes to Miss Taylor and Miss Perry for their time, effort and dedication toward this much valued event.
